1.    Tell someone who will listen what you like most about this season of the year. What will you do to stay more connected with nature?

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 4. Who is speaking? To whom? Why do you think a non-Israelite tyrant of a king got to write a portion of our Bible?

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 4 with Revelation 6-7. Consider especially Daniel 4:34-37 and Revelation 7:12-17, looking for similar words, phrases, or scenes. The point is the worship and service of God as ultimate king. The miracle is the preservation of the kingdom. The means is the banding of a tree and or the sealing of the saints. Discuss similarities and differences.

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 4. Tell, draw, dance, or dramatize the story. Compare verses 30-31 with Revelation 14:8. Tell what you think is the problem with Babylon.

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 4:34-37. Find some words that assert God’s authority as king. Find other words that assert human nothingness. Find yet other words that assert human discovery and excellence. Discuss how these three items fit in your life: God’s authority, human nothingness, and human excellence.
